The Sunday Salon: Unaccustomed Earth

June 21, 2009

It is very late, almost midnight, so this will be a remarkably brief Sunday Salon post. I finished Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri tonight and recommend it to every reader that enjoys short stories, as I do. The final three stories are interwoven with the last story ending in a manner that surprised even me, a reader who imagines every possible (so I thought) conclusion before reaching the end of a story. I intend on posting a Tiny Review about one of the stories from the first section of the book later this week.

I loved this collection, as well. One of my favorites!
