The Final Move
I hope.
I am pleased to announce that musings is now simply Susan Sonnen, the blog at my website.
At this point I still do not have a comments section, but can be reached via email and Networked Blogs.
Thank you for your patience.

Heads Up!
Truth be told, I would really like to blog only at my letter to the world. I have kept musings open because it allows for comments and I am unable to have that function at my website. I’m thinking (scary, I know) that maybe I should just go ahead and close musings. The blog at my website posts to my Facebook page. Also, I can easily switch blogs at Networked Blogs, so I suppose that takes care of the comment problem in a roundabout way. Hmm…
Still, there is the issue of a lack of tags/labels with iweb. I love iweb, but why didn’t they incorporate tags and comments? Would it really have been that difficult?
Alas.

Sometimes the Gods Just Laugh
He had always preferred redheads. He never offered excuses or explanations for it. He simply preferred redheads. For this, Emily thanked the gods.
“Em,” he had said earlier in the day, “let’s do something wild and crazy today.”
Emily whipped her blonde head around in order to see him. Their cubicles were back to back with half walls. Leo was standing, looking straight at her. She couldn’t remember the last time he had actually looked at her. Had he ever looked at her?
“You have got to be kidding me.” Emily left it at that and resumed tending to her paperwork.
“No,” he said, “I’m not. I’m serious as a heart attack.”
“Oh, my God, Leo. That is such a sophomoric thing to say!” She was genuinely surprised. Leo was one to present himself as professional and intelligent at all times.
“I know,” Leo laughed. “I’ve wanted to say something stupid for a very long time.”
“And I am assuming that your idea of a wild and crazy activity is going out with a blonde.”
“I hadn’t thought of that. No. Redheads are wild enough for me. I just want to spend some time with you.”
“Doing something wild and crazy?”
Leo smiled. “Not necessarily. Well, some people might find it nutty.”
“Find what nutty, exactly?” questioned Emily.
“I thought we might visit the Justice of the Peace. After we shopped at Tiffany’s, of course.”
Emily took a moment to gather her thoughts before speaking. “Leo. I think that you might be experiencing a mid-life crisis. Perhaps you should seek therapy. Quickly.”
“Em, I’m serious.” His smile was gone.
“Leo, to be frank, I didn’t even think that you knew my name. Look, there’s Rita!” Emily waved the redheaded banker over.
“Yes?” Rita was anxious to close shop. She was going to the bank president’s apartment for drinks and pre-promotion sex at eight.
“Rita, I want to marry Emily.”
Rita shrugged. “Best wishes.”
Emily watched as Rita walked away. Leo watched Emily.
“Okay, you win,” Leo said. “I’ll meet you half way. Let’s just go on a date tonight. The movies. We won’t even have to speak to each other.”
“Leo, I don’t like you.”
“You don’t know me.”
Emily and Leo left the bank together that afternoon.
Rita and the bank manager stood up for them at their private wedding ceremony three weeks later.

The Post
I was determined to post here today. As it is, I am tired. I am somewhat grumpy. I am honoring myself by recognizing those two issues as well as by posting here despite my fatigue and bad attitude.
THE POST
There you have it, folks. That’s all I have to offer right now.
